Conflicts Between AnyViewer and Apple Remote Desktop on Mac: Issues and Solutions

April 18, 2025 by AndyHuang

Discover how to resolve conflicts between AnyViewer and Apple Remote Desktop on your Mac. Learn effective solutions for smoother remote access and management.

1. Issue

I found two issues on Mac,
Issue 1: When I set AnyViewer to start by default at startup, it blocks remote connections through Apple Remote Desktop. I get a message asking me to make sure Remote Management is enabled, as if the connection port is overwritten.
I think this is a serious problem because Apple Remote Desktop allows remote access as soon as the Mac displays the login screen asking for a password, which does not happen with AnyViewer, at least not in my experience. For example, when I use AnyViewer (Pro) to update remotely, I lose control as soon as the system restarts.
On the other hand, the same situation also happens in reverse: if I enable Remote Management in System Settings, I get a black screen when trying to connect to AnyViewer, unless I disable Remote Management in System Settings first.
Is there no way to make the two services coexist like TeamViewer does?
Issue 2: If Apple Remote Management is turned on, the screen is black when connecting to AV, and disabling Apple Remote Management first should be normal.

2. Cause

3. Solution

Solution to problem 1: Remove the password and enter the system directly to access remotely.

Solution to problem 2: Disable Apple remote management first and it should be normal.
