AweSun: Best Alternative to TeamViewer and AnyDesk in 2025
On June 2, 2020, AweSun is now used for remote access, which is similar to TeamViewer, better than the remote desktop built into WeChat Work, and AnyDesk has also been abandoned. Additionally, you can use OpenVPN to set up a virtual network for penetration, but the downside of this solution is that it requires a public server.
Why AweSun is Better Than TeamViewer and AnyDesk?
TeamViewer accused me of commercial use and prohibited me from using it. I looked around and found AnyDesk, which is good. During the process, there was a small incident. Two machines, PC-A and PC-B.
Connecting from A to B was fine, but when connecting from B to A, the following issue occurred: an Administrator appeared in the bottom right corner of the screen, and clicking on the screen was ineffective.
Encountering this problem, I thought it was a permission issue. After checking the login status of both machines A and B, I found that when A connected to B, it used Administrator.
When B connected to A, it used System.
What is a System? There is no such user on B. I couldn’t find a place on AnyDesk to change the login username…
After some deliberation and troubleshooting, I couldn’t find a solution. Suddenly, I remembered that there was no mouse plugged into PC-B. I set up MouseWithoutBorders on PC-A and PC-B to operate with one mouse. The mouse was plugged into A, and when I plugged another mouse into B, it worked. Are they messing with me?…

Conclusion
After being flagged for commercial use by TeamViewer, I switched to AweSun for remote desktop access. It performs better than WeChat Work’s built-in remote tool and has now replaced AnyDesk in my workflow. An unusual input issue—caused by a missing mouse on the remote machine—highlighted the quirks of remote tools, but once resolved, AweSun proved to be a reliable alternative. For advanced setups, OpenVPN is also an option, though it requires a public server.
